Mrs. Calhoun was a member of EPC for 55 years. She was a community member and builder for at least that long. She passed on February 5, 2021 and was honored on July 26, 2025 by having a block of Pearsall Avenue named Annie Mae Calhoun Way.
“Whereas in her service to the Eastchester Presbyterian Church as a Deacon, a Ruling Elder, founder of the Circle of Love Committee (to recognize and serve senior citizens), Sunday School teacher, member of the Philemon Ministry, Board Member and general servant to the Farrell Learning and Enrichment Center, and her service to the Eastchester community through the Fish-Bay Neighborhood Association and on the 47th Precinct Community Board, as well as countless other community service groups, she shared a bright, steady spirit and a cheerful heart.”
